在过去的二十年里，基于投影的人脸识别得到了广泛的研究。问题之一是需要巨大的存储空间来保存从训练人脸获得的人脸特征。我们提出了一种基于 SVD 的人脸检索系统，它比 PCA、2DPCA、Fisher 和 2DFisher 方法需要更少的内存。该算法在著名的 ORL (AT&T) 人脸数据库上测试，由 40 位受试者平均贡献的 400 张 112 x 92 灰度人脸图像组成，检索识别率达到 97.5%。
